Description
The Hair Analysis Kit provides students with the opportunity to use scientific methods and basic laboratory skills to study the morphology of hair samples from various species. Written materials include a discussion of hair as evidence in forensic science, directions for mounting hair samples and visualizing scale patterns, and illustrated descriptions of hair structures. After mastering techniques and background information, students conduct two forensic examinations using standard procedures used by forensic examiners. Includes instructional manuals and student worksheets. Designed for 24 students working in six groups of four students each. Meets national standards for grade levels 9-12. Designed for grade 9-14. Additional items required but not included: Microscopes, hair brushes, forceps, plastic sandwich bags.
