The Bio-Guard™ DNA Collection System has everything you need for proper collection and transport. Each kit contains one tube, drying desiccant, chain of custody seal. The desiccant will absorb moisture from the sample once placed in the container. It will dry a single cotton tip applicator in 2-3 hours and 2 applicators in 4-6 hours. The polypropylene container will protect and preserve the sample during transport to the laboratory. No more concerns with sterility, air drying, moisture, or cross contamination of DNA samples. This is the most advanced DNA collection and transport system available to crime scene investigators. State Crime Laboratory tested and approved. Validation material available upon request.
- Remove the BioGuard™ Collection Container from the master bag and reseal the bag.
- One BioGuard™ container includes a drying desiccant and a humidity indicating card; this tube is the quality control and should be used last.
- The drying desiccant will dry a single cotton tip applicator in 2-3 hours and will dry 2 cotton tip applicators in 4-6 hours.
- For the Bio-Swab™ it will take 5-6 hours.The humidity card has 3 humidity levels which will appear blue prior to use: if not, the BioGuard™ container has lost its integrity.
- Once the BioGuard™ cap is removed and the sample is placed in the container, the humidity card may turn pink which indicates moisture in the container
